What we do
Professional Development and Well-being
About the judge’s person, respect for our work, continuous professional development, working conditions, stress prevention, and our daily efforts in the name of high-quality administration of justice.
In this section, we focus on ourselves—judges as highly specialized professionals and individuals. We will publish materials from training sessions and information on opportunities to participate in programs offered by the European Judicial Training Network, the Academy of European Law, the International Association of Women Judges, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and others.
Judicial well-being is a global issue, and the Nauru Declaration of July 25, 2024 (https://judicialwellbeing.info/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Nauru-Declaration-on-Judicial-Well-being.pdf), is uniting an increasing number of countries in support of the individual judge. The principles enshrined in the Declaration call for the consideration and implementation of appropriate measures to ensure the quality of life for judges.
The Bulgarian Association of Women Judges iis currently negotiating the development of a national program to measure and prevent chronic occupational stress. We plan to present a mandatory policy framework to the Supreme Judicial Council within a year—policies designed to protect the court's most fundamental asset: us, the judges.
